【Ei检索课题】
在Ei数据库中检索近5年(2010--2015年)海洋污染方面的研究论文。
【分析课题】
本课题要检索文献的主题是：海洋污染，ocean pollution【选择检索词、编制检索式】
选择Subject/Title/ Abstract检索途径，检索词为" ocean pollution" ，检索式为(("ocean pollution") WN KY)(定为检索式1)。
【Ei检索步骤】
进入数据库检索的快速检索(Quick Search)界面(2014-6-15)。
(1)在检索词输入框中输入：ocean pollution，选择Subject/Title/ Abstract(主题)检索字段，在检索限定栏选定检索时间段：2010--2015， 点击“Search”检索，显示检索结果有15条记录。
(2)利用检索结果右边的Refine，可以依次选择浏览这15条检索结果中发文最多的作者、单位等，其中的Controlled Vocabulary提供了涉及主题最多的控制词： Marine Pollution，OilSpills，ClimateChange等，此时可以根据检索意图，可以选择与之最接近的控制词重新进行检索，如选择Marine Pollution， 此时的检索式为( (Marine Pollution) WN CV)(定为检索式2) ，得到1323条记录。
【Ei检索结果分析】
对比两个检索结果，可以发现检索式1确实可以得到相关性较高的文献，但却漏掉了大量其他同样也很相关的文献：如用组配检索：#2 not #1，得到1 308条记录，按相关度排序后，查看最后5条记录(即系统认定的最不相关的5条)的标题如下：
(1) Historical reconstruction of groundwater contamination at contaminated sites and uncertainty analysis.
(2) Fluorescence excitation-emission matrix spectroscopy of CDOM from Yundang Lagoon and its indication for organic pollution.
(3) Contamination of magnesium alloy with chloride deposits under marine atmospheric conditions.
(4) Endosulfan， a global pesticide： A review of its fate in the environment and occurrence in the Arctic.
(5) Methyl ethyl ketone spills in water： Visualization of the releases by optical schlieren technique.
从整个检索过程可以看出：初始检索时的检索词如本例中的ocean pollution可能是自由词( uncontrolled terms) ，用之进行检索，选择Title、 Keyword等途径，可以得到相关性较高的文献，但会产生漏检。如果改用控制词进行检索，则可避免这种情况的发生。所以针对Ei数据库，尽量用控制词进行检索。确定控制词的方法除了上述方法外，还可利用系统提供的Thesaurus查找。
