由于EI的历史悠久，其结构不断变化，不同时期月刊和年刊的编排结构如下所示。

1987年后包括：
① 文摘正文（Abstracts Section）
② 辅助索引（Supplement Index）
● 主题索引[Subject Index（1987—）]
● 著者索引（Author Index）
③ 附表：机构名称字首缩写（ Acronyms, Initials and Abbreviations of Organization Names）
（2）EI年刊编排结构
1987年前包括：
